About Our Faith

Our faith in God is a huge part of who we are and impacts all we do. We are passionate about sharing His love with the guests who come through our doors, with no exclusions. Haven is not affiliated with any denomination, nor are we a para-church organization. We are however deeply faith-based in our thinking, philosophy, and methods.

Our beliefs are based on Jesus’ command to “‘love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-39 NIV).

We strongly believe that though we cannot change the past, we can radically improve the future. The past doesn't have to define the future.
Our doors are open to all women who have been victimized, regardless of their beliefs.
During their stay at Haven, we will invite the women to explore faith and church, but we will never force anyone. Jesus never forces anyone, but rather invites all into a relationship with Him. We will follow His example in this.
We believe Jesus elevates and forever established the precious value of women as equal heirs of goodness and worth.
We believe He is grieved deeply when one of His daughters is brutalized in such intimate ways.
We are confident that He cares deeply and that He will work in and through Haven to heal and restore.
We believe that God and Prayer are a crucial part of the healing of the broken.

Meet Our Team

Troy Vermillion
Troy first envisioned Haven in 2007, when a church presentation on trafficking stirred something deep in his heart. The word Haven came to him as a vision of refuge and healing, and he’s been carrying that dream ever since.
A devoted husband to his bride Hilda and proud dad to Phin, Troy’s heart is rooted in family. He blends his business expertise with his life’s mission, building Haven to not just exist—but to thrive and sustain itself for generations.
Troy is famously known as the family “cat lady,” proving that even visionaries need purring sidekicks.

Hilda Vermillion
Hilda believes every person is precious, especially women and children. A fierce advocate against objectification, she’s working with her husband Troy to bring their dream of Haven to life—a place of safety and healing.
As an Interior Designer and Business Owner, Hilda weaves dignity and restoration into every detail, designing spaces that honor privacy, choice, and wholeness.
At home, she loves Jesus, Troy, their son Phin, and five cats. Her favorite place to visit are the Smoky Mountains.

Andrew Estes
Andrew has spent the past decade helping churches and leaders live out their God-given mission with clarity and purpose. A former pastor, he now serves as a Church Vision Coach with RunFree.co and as Director of Training at Nexus: Church Planting & Leader Care, where he equips pastors and planters to lead with vision and impact.
With certifications in strategy, disciple-making, and team development, Andrew brings expertise to guiding leaders from big dreams to real results.
At home, Andrew treasures life with his wife Megan and their four children, where faith and family shape the center of his world.

Megan Estes
Megan Estes is a people-mover at heart, passionate about encouraging others to take steps closer to their Creator. Joy comes naturally to her, but she calls herself a “grateful warrior,” choosing daily to pursue Christ and reflect His love in all she says and does.
Alongside her husband Andrew, Megan serves in full-time ministry with churches across Northern Colorado and beyond. She embraces her role as both a truth-teller and “arrow shaper” for their four children, weaving faith into family life and adventure into homeschooling.
